If you are on the market for a new television, you probably want the very best of the best for the media room. Of course, before you go out and purchase a new television, you need to make sure it has some very important specifications, otherwise the picture quality is not going to be as good as other systems.
To start, you want a television with 1080 lines of horizontal resolution. This is currently the highest resolution available for a television and provides the best image quality available.
After this, you want the highest refresh rate possible. This is marked in Hertz. The higher the hertz of the television the smoother the image appears (you probably have been at an electronic store where the picture appears to move almost smoother than real life, this is due to the hertz). If possible, look for a television with at least 240 hertz, although it is possible to obtain a suitable 120 hertz television. It is going to cost less and, although not have the same quality, should suffice for your media room needs.
